An afternoon pastry treat with BB at L’Eclair Patisserie, on a Burpple Beyond set: éclairs and coffees for $22. 🍫😋
What we had:
- A mango éclair topped with banana slices, meringue kisses and cake crumble
- A rose-glazed éclair with a rose petal
- A pistachio-strawberry éclair
- Two coffees
L’Eclair does proper French éclairs, and they are as pretty as they are good. The choux pastry shells were light, crisp and hollow, filled with smooth custard and finished with those glossy fondant tops. The mango one was the bright, tropical pick, tangy mango glaze with fresh banana and little crunchy bits of crumble and meringue on top.
The rose-glazed éclair was the prettiest, a smooth pink glaze with a single rose petal, delicate and floral. The pistachio-strawberry one was the nutty, fruity one, piped pistachio cream with slices of fresh strawberry. Each one a different flavour to compare, which is half the fun.
The two coffees rounded it out, smooth flat-white-style cups, one with a little heart poured in. With the 1-for-1 deal bringing it all to $22, it was a lovely-value little indulgence, the kind of pretty, slightly fancy treat that brightens an afternoon.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Crisp, well-filled éclairs in lovely flavours with smooth coffees. Would repeat.
