Cold Stone Creamery!

A farewell visit to Cold Stone Creamery before it closed for good (last day 31 Jan 2020): the Mint Mint Chocolate Chip, Like It size ($6.50). One of the best, now gone.

Cold Stone Creamery!

Got hold of the news that Cold Stone Creamery would be shutting down its operations here for good, with the last day of operation on 31 January 2020. So we decided to pay it a farewell visit on CNY 2020 day 2! πŸ˜‹

Cold Stone Creamery is the American ice cream chain famous for its frozen-granite-stone method: the ice cream is folded with your chosen mix-ins on a cold stone slab, worked together by paddle right in front of you, so every scoop is custom-blended rather than pre-mixed. It was a bit of theatre as much as a dessert.

Ordered the Mint Mint Chocolate Chip, β€œLike It” size at $6.50! The serving portion was just nice for 2 pax sharing, the cool mint ice cream studded with chocolate chips, worked smooth on the cold stone. Yummy! πŸ˜›

One of the best ice creams we’d had, the mint-chocolate fresh and the cold-stone fold giving it that dense, just-mixed texture. Unfortunately, they have all closed down here for good, so this one is a throwback to a dessert chain that is no longer around.

Overall: 4.3 / 5. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸΌ Smooth cold-stone mint chocolate chip, a fond farewell to a now-closed chain.
