What we had ($25.50 via Burpple Beyond):
- A golden savoury pie with a side salad
- A dark chocolate tart with a side salad
- Two festive éclairs (a caramel one with snowflakes, a pistachio one with candy-cane sprinkles)
- Two cappuccinos with snowman latte art
After all the home cooking over Christmas, a proper sit-down cafe treat was a nice change. The high tea came as two plates: a flaky savoury pie, warm and buttery, and a rich dark chocolate tart, each plated with a fresh mixed-green salad scattered with almond flakes and cranberries to keep things light.
The two éclairs were the festive showpieces L’Eclair does so well, that crisp choux shell filled with smooth cream, one in a caramel glaze with little snowflakes, the other pistachio-green with candy-cane sprinkles. Pretty and seasonal.
The two cappuccinos even came with cheeky snowman latte art, which made us smile. With the 1-for-1 bringing it all to $25.50, it was a lovely-value little Boxing Day spread, savoury, sweet and festive all at once.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A buttery pie and rich chocolate tart with pretty festive éclairs and snowman cappuccinos. Would repeat.
