Mentai Pork Cutlet + Mentai Salmon ($19.80)!

Dinner pair-up. Mentai pork cutlet + mentai salmon, $19.80 total. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

What was in the bowls:

The mentai (ๆ˜Žๅคชๅญ, spicy pollock roe) bowl format is the fast-casual Japanese healthy-bowl genre that grew across Singapore from 2017 onwards. Outlets like Maki-san, Kanshoku Ramen, A Poke Theory, and several mall food court versions all carry mentai-themed bowls in the $8-$15 range.

The mentai mayo formula:

What makes the bowl format work for everyday eating:

The pork cutlet was the surprise pick of the two. The cut was tender (not the dry-grill texture some places end up with), and the mentai mayo glaze caramelised properly without burning. The salmon was the safer choice (mentai + salmon is the universal hit combination), but the pork bowl had more soul.

At $19.80 for two bowls, this is mid-tier fast-casual pricing. Below sit-down Japanese restaurants ($25+ for similar bowls) and above pure cai png budget tier ($10 for similar carb-protein-veg).

Overall: 4.2 / 5. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Solid mentai bowl dinner pair. The pork cutlet was the standout. Would re-order.
