CookieCrumbs is a Malaysian cookie brand that built a following in the Klang Valley, Penang and Melaka before opening its first Johor Bahru shop in Larkin at the start of 2026. Easy to work into a JB trip, and the sort of thing worth carrying back across the causeway.
They do New York-style soft cookies, which is a very specific thing: thick, heavy pucks rather than thin crisp discs, each one around 110 to 120g, so a single cookie is genuinely a dessert on its own. Every one comes in its own little paper sleeve inside the box, standing on edge in two rows so you can see the whole lineup at once.
The texture is the whole point. The edges bake up lightly crisp and craggy, cracked across the domed top, while the centre stays soft and gooey, still slightly underbaked in the way these are meant to be. Warm one slightly and the chocolate inside goes molten again.
The box we got ran through the range: golden chocolate chip ones studded with big chunks and what looked like macadamia, pale white chocolate versions, and several dark chocolate cookies, deep brown and fudgy right through, closer to a brownie than a biscuit.
Rich enough that one is plenty, though that has never stopped us.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ Thick, gooey-centred cookies with crisp cracked edges and generous chunks. Would buy again on the next JB run.
