CKT x 2 + Fei Lou Porridge fried chicken wings ($4 + $4 + 2 for $2.60)!

Dinner with BB at Telok Blangah hawker — double char kway teow + Fei Lou Porridge fried chicken wings for the side. Total $10.60. 😋

What was on the table ($4 + $4 + $2.60):

Telok Blangah hawker centre is the underrated south side institution — not as famous as the Tiong Bahru or Chinatown markets but with the same heritage stall quality. Fei Lou Porridge is the queue-magnet stall here, known mainly for their chicken porridge, but their side menu fried chicken wings are the cult favourite.

The fried chicken wings at 2 for $2.60 = $1.30 each. The price point is the kind of hawker bargain that makes you double-order. The batter is the thin-crispy style (not the thick-crunchy crust of Korean fried chicken) and the wing meat stays juicy thanks to the moderate temperature double-fry.

CKT at $4 a plate is the proper hawker pricing — most CCK stalls now charge $5+. The Telok Blangah stall keeps the old pricing alive. Both plates had cockles (the cheap-but-essential seafood that adds the briny umami).

Wok hei was present on both plates — visible char on the kway teow edges + the smoky aroma that you can only get from a properly screaming-hot wok with lard.

Total: $10.60 for two mains + side. Hawker date night pricing.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. Fei Lou wings at $1.30 each are the steal of the night, CKT had proper wok hei + cockles + $4 pricing. The full Telok Blangah experience. 😍👍🏼
