Monday bubble tea pair with BB — orange pulp Earl Grey tea ($4.60) + orange pulp Taiwan green tea with chrysanthemum pearls ($5.10). The seasonal orange-tea variants from the specialty bubble tea spot.

We ordered:

Total: $9.70 for both.

The orange pulp Earl Grey tea was the first variant. Earl Grey tea (the bergamot-citrus-flavoured black tea) base with fresh orange pulp added. The bergamot in Earl Grey naturally has citrus character; adding fresh orange pulp amplifies the citrus profile and adds the textural variety from the orange chunks floating in the cup.

The Earl Grey base provides the floral-citrus tea depth that pairs with the fresh orange. Different from a straight orange juice or an orange-flavoured tea, the Earl Grey base brings the proper tea-leaf character underneath the orange.

At $4.60 the Earl Grey orange variant is fair specialty tea pricing.

The orange pulp Taiwan green tea with chrysanthemum pearls was the more elaborate order. Taiwan green tea base (the lighter cleaner profile than Earl Grey), with fresh orange pulp, and chrysanthemum-flavoured pearls as the topping upgrade.

The combination layers multiple flavours — green tea base, citrus from the orange, floral from the chrysanthemum pearls. Each component provides a different note that complements rather than competes.

The chrysanthemum pearls are the topping that this spot specialises in. Instead of standard tapioca pearls, the chrysanthemum-flavoured pearls add the floral character that pairs with the green tea + orange combination.

At $5.10 this is the slight premium over the standard milk tea + pearls format. The fresh orange + chrysanthemum pearl upgrades justify the small price bump.

The two drinks were the seasonal menu selections at the spot. Bubble tea chains run rotating seasonal flavour menus throughout the year — citrus during winter months, tropical fruit during summer, festive flavours around CNY and Christmas.

The seasonal-menu chase is the proper bubble tea consumer behaviour. Limited-time variants get caught while the promo is running; once the season changes, the menu rotates to the next set.

Overall: 4.4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Solid seasonal orange-tea variants — would re-order during the promo window.
