Soju + Sprite + Yakult — home concoction!
Home cocktail concoction — IDO 22% Korean soju mixed with Sprite Zero Sugar and Yakult, the soju-yakult-sprite Korean classic.
Home concoction night with BB — tried the soju + Sprite + Yakult mix. The Korean-classic three-ingredient party cocktail. 🥃
What was on the counter:
- A 1.5L Sprite Zero Sugar bottle (chilled).
- A small bottle of IDO Korean soju 22% ABV (375ml) — black label with Korean white text.
- A small bottle of Yakult cultured milk drink with the iconic red cap.
The mixed drink in the floral-print glass mug:

The finished concoction — soju + Sprite + Yakult layered into a hazy creamy gold drink, with the visible Yakult settled at the bottom.
Soju + Yakult + Sprite (소맥 with Yakult) is the Korean drinking game / party staple — the entry-level home cocktail for non-hardcore drinkers. The three-ingredient logic:
- Soju (22% ABV) = the alcohol base, slightly sweet rice-grain spirit, the Korean vodka equivalent
- Yakult = the creamy-sweet probiotic that masks the soju harshness + adds a tangy yogurt note
- Sprite Zero = the carbonation + dilution + extra sweetness without the calories
Mixing ratio (rough): 1 part soju : 1-2 parts Yakult : 2-3 parts Sprite. Adjustable to taste. Stronger if you want a buzz, sweeter if you want a drinkable session drink.
IDO 22% ABV is a budget-tier Korean soju brand (vs the more famous Jinro Chamisul). 22% is the lower-ABV “fruit soju” range (most original soju is 17-20%, modern flavoured sojus go to 13-15%). At 22% straight, the soju is too harsh to drink neat — Yakult + Sprite makes it palatable.
Yakult here = the SG Yakult Original red-cap (益多 brand printed) — the small 65ml probiotic milk drink. The fermented milk culture adds the creamy-tangy yogurt note that’s distinctively Korean-cocktail style (vs Western cocktails which never use yogurt drinks).
Sprite Zero Sugar = the chosen mixer (instead of regular Sprite) — keeps the sweetness lighter so the Yakult sweetness can show through. Regular Sprite would make the drink overly sweet.
The floral-print glass mug with straw is the classic Korean cafe / home drinking presentation — Instagram-friendly + holds enough volume (around 500ml) for a proper cocktail.
This is the gateway Korean drink for anyone scared of straight soju — the Yakult masks the alcohol, the Sprite makes it bubbly + fun, the soju gives the buzz. Goes down faster than expected.
Overall: 4 / 5. Easy crowd-pleaser concoction, three SG-available ingredients, no shaker / cocktail kit needed. Will make again for K-drama nights. 🥃👍🏼
