Cappuccino ($6) & Green tea latte ($7)!
A cafe afternoon: a frothy cappuccino with a tidy rosetta, and an earthy matcha green tea latte. $13.
A relaxed cafe afternoon with BB and our usual split: a cappuccino ($6) and a green tea latte ($7). โ๐ต๐
What we had ($13 total):
- Cappuccino: with a tidy rosetta poured in the foam
- Green tea latte: a tall matcha latte with a frothy green cap
We almost always order one coffee and one tea, and these two made a nice contrast. The cappuccino was the classic: a shot of espresso under a generous layer of velvety steamed-milk foam, with a neat little leaf poured on top, so you get that lovely foam-first sip with the coffee coming through underneath. Comforting and well made.
The green tea latte was the one I went for. Made with matcha (Japanese powdered green tea) whisked into steamed milk, it came that pretty jade-green and tasted earthy and grassy with that distinctive matcha umami, balanced by the creamy milk. A good one tastes properly of tea rather than just sweet, and this leaned that way, gently bitter and not too sugary.
Sitting back with one frothy coffee and one earthy matcha to share is exactly the kind of easy cafe pause we enjoy. Both nicely made, the sort of unhurried wind-down a weekend afternoon is for.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ A frothy cappuccino and an earthy matcha latte, a lovely coffee-and-tea pairing. Would re-order.
