Texas Chicken for lunch on a TGIF!
A Friday fried chicken feast from Texas Chicken: crispy fried chicken, honey butter biscuits and grilled chicken salads, shared with the group.
A proper TGIF treat: a group Texas Chicken feast for Friday lunch. 🍗😋
What we had:
- Boxes of fried chicken
- Plenty of honey butter biscuits
- A couple of grilled chicken salads
- Dips and a honey lemon tea
Friday calls for fried chicken, and we went big, ordering enough to cover the whole table. The fried chicken was crisp and golden, that craggy, well-seasoned Texas Chicken coating (a touch saltier and more peppery than KFC) over juicy meat, the kind you tear into with your hands.
The real reason to come, though, is the honey butter biscuits, and we had stacks of them. Warm, flaky and slightly sweet, they are somewhere between a savoury side and a little dessert, and slathered with the honey butter they are dangerously good. There were a couple of grilled chicken salads too, the lighter option for balance, with their creamy dressing on the side.
It is unapologetically indulgent fast food, but sharing a big spread of crispy chicken and warm biscuits with the gang on a Friday is exactly the right kind of end-of-week energy.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Crispy, well-seasoned fried chicken and those moreish honey butter biscuits, a fun group feast. Would re-order on a Friday.
