Hazelnut chocolate ice cream waffle ($13+), Long black ($5+) & Chai latte ($6+)!
A cafe dessert spread: a Belgian waffle with hazelnut chocolate ice cream, a long black and a chai latte. $24+.
An afternoon cafe treat with BB: a hazelnut chocolate ice cream waffle ($13+), a long black ($5+) and a chai latte ($6+). ๐งโ๐
What we had ($24+, around $28 nett):
- Hazelnut chocolate ice cream waffle: a Belgian waffle with two scoops of hazelnut chocolate ice cream
- A long black
- A chai latte
The waffle was the centrepiece and a good one: a fresh Belgian waffle, crisp and golden on the outside with a tender, fluffy middle, dusted with icing sugar and crowned with two scoops of hazelnut chocolate ice cream. That gianduja-style pairing of chocolate and hazelnut is hard to beat, rich and nutty, melting into the warm waffle pockets as you eat. Cosy and indulgent.
To drink, BB had the chai latte, fragrant with cardamom and cinnamon and served with cinnamon sticks, while I went for the long black, strong and clean to cut through all that sweetness. One spiced and milky, one bold and black, a nice contrast across the table.
A relaxed weekend cafe stop, a shared dessert and two good drinks. Exactly the kind of slow afternoon we enjoy.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ A crisp Belgian waffle with rich hazelnut chocolate ice cream, balanced by a bold long black. Would re-visit.
