Naganuma Hokkaido milk soft serve (cone: $6.50)!

A little dessert detour to Naganuma Ice no Ie (あいすの家), the Hokkaido soft serve specialist: a Hokkaido milk soft serve cone for $6.50. 🍦😋

What we had:

This is the soft serve you go out of your way for. It came that signature pale ivory, swirled high on a Nissei cone, made with rich Hokkaido milk so the flavour is all about the dairy rather than sugar. One lick and it is properly milky, almost like frozen cream, silky-smooth with no iciness at all.

What I love about a good Hokkaido milk soft serve is how clean it tastes: sweet but restrained, letting that full-fat, grassy milk flavour come through, with a slow, luxurious melt. The cone added a light, crisp, slightly toasty crunch to balance the softness.

At $6.50 it is more than a McDonald’s cone, but you are paying for that imported milk and it shows in every spoonful. Simple, single-flavour, and just really good.

Overall: 4.7 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Silky, pure-tasting Hokkaido milk soft serve, milk-forward and lovely. Would re-order.
