Tempura Tenten!
Tempura Tenten at Raffles City: the special tendon ($13.80++) and a yuzu shoyu ramen ($15.80++). Famous for their tempura don, served as a set.
Throwback to a Christmas day visit to Tempura Tenten back in December 2018! 😋
Heard that they’re famous for their tendon (tempura don) and finally had a chance to visit and try it out! Tendon is the Japanese rice bowl topped with assorted tempura, the crispy fried pieces drizzled with a sweet-savoury tentsuyu sauce that soaks into the rice.
The front menu:

Chanced upon something unique in one of the pages:

Ordered the yuzu shoyu ramen ($15.80++), tasted alright, with a refreshing yuzu (Japanese citrus) note lifting the soy-based broth.

Next, the recommended dish:

Ordered the special tendon ($13.80++):

The dish came as a set. We felt it was alright only, the tempura was decent but we still prefer the ones from Ginza Tendon Itsuki, where the batter is lighter and the egg yolk on top is the highlight.

Overall it was really filling.

Overall: 3.8 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Filling tendon set with a refreshing yuzu ramen on the side, decent though we prefer Itsuki for tendon. Worth a try if you’re at Raffles City.
