Sunday's brunch with McSpicy!
Sunday lockdown brunch — McDonald's McSpicy chicken burger delivery for a lazy weekend morning. The Singapore-favourite spicy chicken fillet.
Sunday lockdown brunch — went the McDonald’s McSpicy delivery route because some Sundays the cooking energy just isn’t there. The McSpicy is one of the few items on the McDonald’s Singapore menu that’s a permanent crowd-favourite, and it’s the obvious order when you want a lazy brunch.
We ordered:
- McSpicy burger meal (chicken thigh + fries + drink)
The McSpicy is the Singapore signature — a whole chicken thigh fillet (not the breaded patty most international markets get), battered with a red-tinted hot-and-spicy coating, deep-fried, served in a sesame bun with lettuce and mayo. The chicken thigh is the key differentiator. Most McDonald’s chicken fillets worldwide use breast meat that goes dry. The thigh stays juicy and has more flavour.
The spice level is the other Singapore-specific thing. The McSpicy actually carries real heat — paprika, cayenne, and a chilli kick that builds across the first few bites and lingers in the back of your throat. It’s not the dialled-down “spicy” of most fast-food chains, it’s actually spicy.
Fries were the standard McDonald’s salt-dusted shoestring. Crispy outside, fluffy potato inside. We ate them first because delivery fries lose their crispness fast.
Drink was a default Coke, ice-medium. The standard McDonald’s delivery cup with lid and straw.
The McSpicy and fries combo is one of those lockdown weekend defaults that you don’t overthink. When the choice is between an elaborate home-cooked brunch or 20 minutes of delivery-app-tap-and-wait, the delivery option wins on Sunday energy levels.
Overall: 4.4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Lazy Sunday brunch win — would re-order.
