Cafe latte blend ($7 each)!

Cafe latte blend $7 each — house signature blend pulled cleanly into a creamy latte with proper microfoam. The fair-pour third-wave default.

Cafe latte blend ($7 each)!

Saturday afternoon — back at a neighbourhood cafe with BB for our usual default order. Cafe latte blend at $7 each is the kind of pour that earns its keep.

We ordered:

The cafe’s house blend leans the chocolate-and-nut side — medium-dark roast, comfortable across milk drinks, low acidity. The latte was pulled clean with a proper espresso shot underneath, no bitter pull, no burnt notes, and a generous layer of velvety microfoam swirled into a tulip on top.

What separates a good neighbourhood latte from a chain one isn’t the bean — it’s the temperature of the milk, the volume of foam, and how much practice the barista has at the same espresso machine. Milk should be steamed to ~60-65°C so the dairy stays sweet, not the scorched-and-bitter hotter end. Foam should be glossy and integrated, not the dry meringue you sometimes get.

Both our cups had that proper temp and texture. The latte stayed silky from first sip to last, with a slight lingering sweetness from the steamed milk.

At $7 per cup this is fair third-wave cafe pricing in Singapore — same as Starbucks but with better coffee, smaller venue, no chain queue.

The cafe was the usual Saturday afternoon scene — laptop people in one corner, friends-catching-up in another, a couple of solo coffee drinkers like us.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Strong default latte — would always come back.
