A&W is the American root beer + burger chain that came back to SG in 2019 after a long absence. Fish O Fry is their seafood option — most A&W stops are for the Coney burger + curly fries + root beer combo, but the fish set works when you want non-burger.
The fish fillet was on the lighter batter style (not thick beer-batter), so the fish stayed visible through the coating. Onion rings were the textural standout — proper panko-crispy outer with sweet onion inside, three pieces was enough.
Shoestring fries are A&W standard — thin-cut, salty, slightly crispy.
Root beer in a frosty mug is the real reason to come to A&W. The chain freezes their mugs so the root beer goes ice-slushy at the top + stays cold throughout. No other SG chain does this.

Overall: 3.8 / 5. Fish was OK but not the strongest fish-and-chips in SG, onion rings + root beer carried the meal, frosty mug as always the highlight. Better off ordering the curly fries + Coney combo next time. 😋
