Knocking dinner with The Sims — pasta café night with BB!
Kallang café pasta night with BB — prawn aglio olio, mushroom cream pasta, mentaiko salmon pasta with tobiko + ikura, truffle fries and a teddy bear chocolate iced drink.
Date dinner with BB at a Kallang café — went deep with multiple pasta plates while playing The Sims at the table. 😋
What was on the table:
- Prawn aglio olio — angel hair pasta with whole prawns, garlic, chilli flakes and Italian parsley. Light, garlicky, slightly spicy.
- Truffle prawn pasta — spaghetti with prawns and a generous dusting of shaved parmesan + truffle oil, finished with a black sliver garnish.
- Mushroom cream pasta — creamy white-sauce spaghetti packed with button mushrooms, finished with edible purple flower petals for the visual pop.
- Mentaiko salmon pasta (bottom right) — spaghetti topped with slices of torched salmon, then loaded with orange tobiko (flying fish roe), chopped scallions and bits of nori. The most photogenic plate.
- A basket of truffle fries — golden, parsley-dusted, the universal pasta-table side.
- A tall glass of iced mocha with a chocolate teddy bear (kuma) on the rim — the chocolate bear is the kawaii café trend pulling double duty as garnish + Insta-bait.
We ordered too many pastas, played The Sims between bites, took our time eating. The mentaiko salmon was the clear winner; truffle prawn was the runner-up; mushroom cream was the comfort pick.
Total: café-pasta evening pricing.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Pasta variety was the strength, café aesthetics + chocolate kuma was the date-night charm. Will be back for more pasta runs. 😍👍🏼
