Waffle & Drink (Burpple Beyond: $16)!
Cafe waffle + drink set $16 via Burpple Beyond — buttermilk waffle stack, ice cream scoop, and a coffee on the side. Standard cafe dessert play.
Sunday afternoon dessert detour with BB at a neighbourhood cafe — pulled out the Burpple Beyond card again for a waffle + drink set, because the cafe-dessert math never quite makes sense at full price.
We ordered:
- Buttermilk waffle stack + ice cream + drink (Burpple Beyond set) — $16
Waffle came as the thick Belgian-style with crisp ridges, square pockets, and a golden-brown surface. Two waffles stacked with maple syrup drizzled over the top, finished with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream that started melting into the syrup the moment it landed.
The texture was the right kind — crispy edges, fluffy centre, slight buttermilk tang underneath the sugar. Not the chewy mall-cafe version that goes rubbery once it cools. Vanilla ice cream was the chain default, cold against the warm waffle, doing its job of softening every bite.
Drink was a flat white — clean shot pull, decent latte art, fair second wave of cafe coffee in Singapore.
$16 via Burpple Beyond is what makes this kind of cafe stop work. Full price for a waffle + scoop + coffee runs closer to $22–25 in most independent cafes — the membership stacks pay back quickly across a few visits like this.
The cafe itself had the usual indie-chain energy — wooden tables, exposed bulbs, a queue of people waiting for tables on the weekend afternoon shift.
Overall: 4.2 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Fair waffle stop with the deal — would absolutely repeat.
