L'Eclair high tea — 4 eclairs + coffee (Burpple Beyond: $22.50)!
L'Eclair Patisserie weekend high tea — Christmas-themed eclairs (chocolate stars, red holiday, praline, dark chocolate with mandarin) + cappuccino + espresso. $22.50 via Burpple Beyond.
Weekend high tea with BB at L’Eclair Patisserie — 4 signature eclairs + 2 coffees via the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 deal. $22.50 total (would have been double without the deal). 😋
What was on the marble counter ($22.50 via Burpple Beyond):
- Chocolate cream eclair (left plate, left) — choux pastry topped with piped chocolate cream rosettes and golden star-shaped tuile decorations. The signature L’Eclair chocolate.
- Red Christmas holiday eclair (left plate, right) — bright red glazed eclair with holly leaf marzipan + silver pearl decoration + scattered gold + white sugar pearls. The festive limited edition.
- Praline eclair (right plate, left) — golden praline cream piped in waves on top, dusted with caramel sugar.
- Dark chocolate Christmas eclair (right plate, right) — glossy dark chocolate ganache top with candied orange peel slices + a red “Merry Christmas” disc + L’Eclair logo medallion.
- A cappuccino in black cup (BB’s) — proper micro-foam latte art.
- An espresso in a small glass — black coffee for the contrast.
L’Eclair Patisserie is the SG French eclair specialist — the only cafe in town doing the proper Parisian-technique eclair: choux shell baked precisely (not too dry, not too soft), filled with cream patissiere (smooth pastry cream), topped with mirror glaze or piped cream + edible decorations. The visual presentation is half the point.
The Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 on the high tea set is the regular sweet spot for L’Eclair — at face price the high tea is $40+ for two people. The Burpple deal halves that and includes the coffee. Worth the annual subscription if you cafe-hop on weekends.
Each eclair is the size of a small phone — about 12cm long, filled and decorated. Eating four is the high tea portion, sharing two each across the couple.
The Christmas seasonal eclairs (red holiday + dark chocolate w/ Merry Christmas disc + candied orange) are the December rotation — L’Eclair rotates designs every season, so the December lineup has the holly + mandarin + dark chocolate motifs. Worth the visit specifically for the limited editions.
The praline + chocolate cream eclairs are the year-round signatures — the praline is the buttery nutty crowd-pleaser, the chocolate cream is the kid-friendly classic.
Cappuccino + espresso pairing covers the milk-vs-black coffee preference — both done at proper cafe standard with good crema.
Total: $22.50 via Burpple Beyond (1-for-1 on the high tea set).
Overall: 4.5 / 5. Four well-executed Parisian eclairs at half price thanks to the Burpple deal, Christmas designs made it feel special, coffees were properly pulled. Will visit again before the seasonal designs change. 😍👍🏼
