What we had ($12 total):
- Cappuccino: in a red cup, with a rosetta and a cocoa dusting
- Chai latte: in a glass, with a cinnamon stick
We usually split a coffee and a tea, and these made a nice pair. The cappuccino came as it should: a shot of espresso under a thick layer of velvety microfoam, finished with a leaf poured into it and a light dusting of cocoa. Strong, smooth and well balanced, the foam soft rather than bubbly.
The chai latte was the fragrant one, a spiced black-tea base whisked into steamed milk, warm with cardamom, cinnamon and clove and topped with a cinnamon stick for a bit of theatre. Sweet, milky and gently spiced, an easy partner to the coffee.
Both were carefully made, the latte art a good sign the milk was steamed right. A relaxed catch-up over one bold coffee and one cosy spiced tea.
Overall: 4.4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A smooth cappuccino and a fragrant chai latte at Craftsmen. Would re-visit.
