McDonald's $1 soft serve cone in coffee milk tea (yuan yang) flavour, a limited-edition local twist.

McDonald's coffee milk tea cone ($1)!

A cheeky $1 treat from McDonald’s: their limited-edition coffee milk tea (鸳鸯) cone. 🍦😋

What we had:

McDonald’s rotates fun flavours through their $1 cone, and this one was the yuan yang (鸳鸯), that classic Hong Kong combination of coffee and milk tea. As soon as I saw the poster I had to grab one.

The soft serve came that lovely caramel-beige, swirled high on the usual wafer cone. The flavour leaned coffee-forward, with a roasty, espresso-like bitterness up front, then a milky-tea, evaporated-milk sweetness underneath that softens it. It is a clever little translation of the drink into ice cream, that coffee-and-tea push and pull all in a creamy soft serve.

For a dollar it is honestly impressive, the cheapest dessert going and genuinely tasty, with a local flavour that beats the usual generic vanilla. The kind of thing to grab on a whim while running weekend errands, before the promo moves on to the next flavour.

Overall: 4.3 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A creamy coffee-and-milk-tea soft serve with a roasty edge, brilliant for $1. Would chase the next drop.
