What we had:
- Curry chicken: a drumstick and potato in a coconut curry gravy
- A plate of curry rice topped with a fried pork cutlet and lettuce
- A bowl of plain rice and a clear soup on the side
This was a proper curry feast, with the gravy as the star. The curry chicken came as a tender drumstick and a soft chunk of potato sitting in a rich, golden coconut curry, fragrant and gently spiced, the kind you want to spoon over everything. The potato, soaked through with curry, was almost the best bit.
The clever part was the curry rice plate: fried rice tinted and flavoured with curry, topped with a crisp, golden pork cutlet sliced into strips, with more curry gravy pooled around it. Between the curry chicken, the curry rice and the plain rice on the side, there was plenty to mop up all that lovely sauce, and the clear soup gave a light break between mouthfuls.
It is hearty, saucy, satisfying comfort food, the sort of meal that leaves you very full and very happy. At $13.60 for this much, it felt like good value.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A fragrant coconut curry chicken with a crispy cutlet over curry rice, comforting and generous. Would re-visit.
