What we had:
- Siu mai: pork-and-prawn dumplings
- Har gow: crystal shrimp dumplings
- Fried beancurd rolls with fish paste
- Stuffed beancurd with fish paste
- Chee cheong fun: rice noodle rolls in dark sauce
- A kopi and a soya bean drink
Dim sum in Malaysia is always a treat, the same Cantonese spread we love but at a fraction of the price. We worked through a good little selection: plump siu mai, delicate har gow with sweet whole prawns, crispy fried beancurd rolls wrapped around fish paste, and soft stuffed beancurd pieces.
The chee cheong fun was the smooth, slippery one, rice noodle rolls draped in a glossy sweet dark sauce, lovely against the dumplings. We washed it all down with a strong kopi and a cold soya bean, the classic old-coffeeshop drinks.
A generous, varied dim sum spread for around SGD$7.40 for two, the kind of value that makes a Malaysia food run so worth it. Comforting, familiar and cheap.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. πππΌ Plump siu mai, sweet har gow and crispy beancurd rolls, a great-value Malaysian dim sum spread. Would re-visit.
