Pacific Wonderland Lager ($9)!

A cold one to relax over with BB: a Pacific Wonderland Lager, $9, poured fresh into a cup. πŸΊπŸ˜‹

What I had:

This was a lovely change from the usual mass-market lagers. Pacific Wonderland is a craft lager, so it pours that bright, hazy gold with a good frothy head, and it drinks cleaner and a touch more characterful than a standard pint. There is a gentle, fragrant hop note in there, more aromatic than bitter, that gives it a bit of personality without going overboard.

It is the sort of beer that sits right in the sweet spot: crisp, refreshing and easy-drinking like a regular lager, but with a little extra craft-beer flavour to keep things interesting. That makes it a great session pour, the kind you can happily sip through without it tiring out your palate.

Cold, crisp and nicely balanced, it was exactly the relaxed drink I wanted. A good reminder that a well-made lager can be just as enjoyable as a fancier craft beer.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸΌ A crisp, lightly hoppy craft lager, clean and easy-drinking. Would re-order.
