Fries ($4.50); Pandan shake ($7.80); Shack burger ($9.20); Shroom burger ($10.80)!
Our first Shake Shack visit at Jewel Changi: a Shack burger, a Shroom burger, crinkle fries and the Singapore-exclusive pandan shake. $32.30.
Finally tried Shake Shack with BB at its first Singapore outlet in Jewel Changi: a Shack burger ($9.20), a Shroom burger ($10.80), crinkle fries ($4.50) and the pandan shake ($7.80), $32.30 in total. ๐๐
What we had:
- Shack burger: a smashed Angus beef patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce on a soft potato bun
- Shroom burger: a crispy fried portobello mushroom oozing melted cheese, with the same toppings
- Crinkle-cut fries and the pandan shake
The New York burger chain landed here to enormous queues, so we were curious if it lived up to the hype. The Shack burger was the proof: a thin, smashed patty with those crispy, caramelised edges, the soft buttery bun and that tangy ShackSauce making it juicy and properly satisfying despite being a single patty.
The Shroom burger was the surprise winner. A whole portobello, battered and deep-fried so it shatters, then leaks hot melted cheese with every bite. Even as a non-vegetarian, Iโd happily order it again.
The crinkle fries were crisp and salty, and the pandan shake was the local treat: their rich frozen custard blended with fragrant pandan, sweet and creamy, a nice Singapore twist you couldnโt get back in New York.
A fun first visit that lived up to the buzz.
Overall: 4.7 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ Juicy smash-burger, an excellent cheesy Shroom burger and a fragrant pandan shake. Would re-do for that shake.
