A double-scoop gelato pickup with BB: strawberry sorbet + nutty Nutella, $8.80. 🍨😋 A bright-and-rich pairing.
We deliberately went for two contrasting scoops:
- Strawberry sorbet: the light, refreshing one. Being a sorbet, it’s dairy-free, just fruit, sugar and a squeeze of lemon, so it’s pure, vivid strawberry, bright and slightly tart, the kind of scoop that cleanses rather than weighs you down.
- Nutty Nutella: the indulgent one. A dense, creamy gelato swirled with chocolate-hazelnut, often with little hazelnut bits running through for crunch, rich, chocolatey and decadent.
The fun is in the contrast: a spoon of the zingy strawberry, then a spoon of the deep Nutella, one keeping the other from getting boring. Good gelato is denser and less airy than regular ice cream (churned slower, with less air whipped in), and these had that lovely smooth, substantial texture. Best eaten starting with the lighter sorbet and finishing on the rich Nutella.
At $8.80 for the double scoop, it’s fair value for proper gelato, a simple, satisfying little dessert stop.
Overall: 4.6 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A bright, tart strawberry sorbet against a rich, nutty Nutella gelato, the contrast made it. Would re-visit.
