Taiwan lunch (NT$220)!

A simple, satisfying lunch with BB on our Taiwan trip, a shared spread for NT$220 (around SGD$10). πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ΌπŸ˜‹

What we had:

This was the kind of unpretentious cooked-food lunch you find all over Taiwan, a few homely dishes to share. The egg fried rice was the comforting one, each grain coated in egg and wok-fried until savoury and a little smoky, simple but really moreish.

The fried noodles were the other carb, springy yellow noodles tossed with vegetables in a light savoury sauce, soft and tasty. And the meatball soup was the gentle counterpoint, bouncy pork meatballs (those classic Taiwanese ones) and greens in a clean, warming broth to sip between mouthfuls.

Nothing fancy, just honest, home-style cooking at a price that made eating out in Taiwan such a joy. The whole spread for about ten dollars between us, and all of it comforting and good.

Overall: 4.6 / 5. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸΌ A homely Taiwan lunch of smoky egg fried rice, springy fried noodles and a clean meatball soup. Would re-visit.
