Prosperity cravings!

Pre-CNY McDonald's prosperity meal — the annual prosperity beef burger + twister fries combo. The Singapore-only festive promo.

Prosperity cravings!

Saturday pre-CNY McDonald’s stop with BB — prosperity meal cravings. The annual Singapore-only McDonald’s CNY promo with the prosperity beef burger and twister fries.

We ordered:

The Prosperity Meal is the McDonald’s Singapore CNY-only release that comes around every January-February. The franchise’s most recognisable local-market release — a beef patty in a black pepper sauce that leans more peppery-savoury than spicy, with crispy lettuce on a sesame bun. Not a high-art burger but it scratches a very specific nostalgic itch every CNY period.

The Prosperity Beef Burger has been on the McDonald’s CNY menu since the 1990s. Each year it returns for a few months, then disappears until the next CNY cycle. The format and recipe stay mostly consistent year to year — the black pepper sauce profile, the beef patty, the lettuce and sesame bun.

Twister fries are the headline accompaniment. Long, curly, with a salt-and-paprika seasoning that’s stronger than the standard fries. We always add an extra portion because one is never enough between two people.

The eating ritual is fast. Twister fries first while they’re still crispy (they cool faster than regular fries because of the curl-shape surface area), then the burger while the patty is still warm.

The “Prosperity Cravings” framing on the IG post captures the annual repeat-customer dynamic. We don’t actually order the Prosperity Meal much outside the CNY window because it’s not on the menu, but during the few months it’s running we hit the drive-thru at least 3-4 times. The artificial scarcity from the limited-time promo drives the cravings.

At standard McDonald’s prosperity meal pricing (around $11-12 for the meal), this is fair fast-food CNY-promo pricing.

McDonald’s Singapore CNY marketing has built the prosperity meal into a recognised local annual tradition. The franchise leans into the local nostalgia rather than fighting it.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Reliable CNY prosperity cravings fix — would re-order annually.
