This was a satisfyingly hefty burger. Two seared beef patties, charred at the edges and stacked tall, topped with a generous tangle of sweet caramelised onions, all tucked into a glossy, buttery brioche bun. You really have to squash it down to get a bite, which is always a good sign.
The patties had a good beefy char and stayed juicy, and the caramelised onions added that lovely sweet, savoury depth that lifts a simple burger. The brioche bun was soft and slightly sweet, holding everything together (just) without falling apart.
On the side, a pile of golden fries, crisp and dusted with a bit of herb, with ketchup for dipping. Nothing too fancy, just a well-made, hearty burger and fries that hit the spot. At $8 for the double it was good value for the size.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A hefty double beef patty with sweet caramelised onions on a buttery brioche bun. Would re-order.
