Uncle Kiisu!

Brunch at Uncle Kiisu (Square 2): the spicy crab fried rice ($19.80++) and chahan unagi ($21.80++), via Chope reservation and a Burpple Beyond 1-for-1. 4/5.

Uncle Kiisu!

First-time visit to Uncle Kiisu for brunch! The eatery wasnโ€™t as packed as the ramen restaurant just next door, though we made reservations beforehand via Chope and enjoyed the 1-for-1 mains via Burpple Beyond! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Uncle Kiisu is a casual Japanese-fusion cafe at Square 2 (Novena), the kind of spot doing creative rice and fusion mains in a cosy, prettily-decorated setting.

The pretty table outlook:

็ˆฑๅฎถ :)

Spicy crab fried rice ($19.80++), the wok-fried rice with crab and a spicy kick, the seafood-and-rice comfort hit:

Chahan unagi ($21.80++), the Japanese-style fried rice (chahan) topped with grilled eel, the richer of the two, the tare-glazed unagi over the savoury fried rice. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Both were satisfying fusion rice bowls, the chahan unagi the more indulgent pick. The Chope-plus-Burpple combination made it good value, and we will revisit to try the other dishes.

Overall: 4 / 5. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ The chahan unagi was the standout, good value via the deals. Would re-visit.
