What we shared:
- Pineapple fried rice with cashews
- Tom yum soup
- A clear seafood soup
- Stir-fried long beans with minced pork (pad prik king)
- Fried fish in pandan
- Grilled pork (moo yang), sliced
- Fried chicken wings with sweet chilli
- Stir-fried morning glory (pak boong) and other greens
- Braised tofu
Eating Thai in a big group is the best, because you get to order across the whole table. The tom yum was the one everyone fought over, hot, sour and fragrant with lemongrass and lime. The pineapple fried rice was the sweet, savoury crowd-pleaser, studded with cashews and served in the hollowed-out fruit.
The pad prik king brought the chilli punch, crunchy long beans and well-seasoned pork, while the grilled pork and fried wings disappeared fast, smoky and crispy with their sweet chilli dip. The fried fish, morning glory and braised tofu rounded it out, with a clean seafood soup to balance all the heat.
A loud, generous, very happy feast, exactly the kind of meal a good game earns you.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ A generous Thai spread with cracking tom yum and pineapple fried rice, perfect post-badminton group food. Would re-do.
