Sunday's games and food!
A Sunday of badminton with the gang, followed by a big shared zi char dinner of prawns, steamed fish and stir-fried dishes.
A proper Sunday with the gang: badminton in the morning, then a big shared dinner to refuel. πΈπ
What we shared:
- Big prawns
- A steamed fish
- Stir-fried vegetables
- A few more zi char dishes and soup
There is no better way to round off a sweaty session on the court than gathering everyone round a table piled with food. After the games we sat down to a generous zi char-style spread, the kind where the dishes keep coming and everyone digs in.
The prawns were a highlight, big and sweet in a savoury sauce, and the steamed fish was the clean, delicate centrepiece, fresh and tender under ginger and spring onion. There were stir-fried greens for balance and a few more shared plates besides, with a soup to round it out, the whole table working its way through it together.
That mix of exercise, friends and a big shared meal is one of my favourite kinds of Sunday. You earn the food on the court, then enjoy it all the more around the table. Loud, happy and full, exactly how the weekend should end.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. πππΌ Sweet prawns and a delicate steamed fish shared with the gang after badminton, the best kind of Sunday. Would re-do.
