These came in cute sailor-striped cups with little smiley faces, which made us smile before the first sip. Cold brew is my pick over iced coffee any day, because it is brewed slow and cold for hours, so it comes out smooth and naturally sweet with hardly any of that sharp, over-extracted bitterness.
The honey latte was the easy-drinking one, cold brew over cold milk with a swirl of honey, creamy and gently sweet, the honey rounding off the coffee without making it cloying. The americano was the cleaner, blacker counterpart, just cold brew, water and ice, smooth and mellow so you taste the coffee’s own notes.
One creamy, one clean, both refreshing, and at $3 each on the 1-for-1 it was a steal for proper cafe cold brew. Exactly the kind of cooling pick-me-up you want on a hot afternoon.
