A romantic dinner with BB on our Thailand trip, and what a setting: a candlelit table right by the beach, with cocktails in hand and the sea and islands in front of us. 🌊❤😋

Across the evening we had:

Sunset cocktails at a table set on the sand
A platter of fresh fruit (papaya, watermelon, melon, dragonfruit)
A prawn salad dressed with a creamy pink sauce
A seafood tower: grilled lobster, prawns, fish and crab, with dipping sauces
A warm chocolate lava cake for dessert
A bottle of Cabernet Merlot to share

This was the kind of dinner you plan a whole trip around. Sitting on the beach with the breeze coming off the water, sipping a fruity cocktail as the light faded, was special before a single dish even arrived.

The seafood tower was the showstopper, a tiered stand piled with grilled lobster, plump prawns, fish and crab, all sweet and smoky off the grill, the sort of spread you slowly work through together. The prawn salad was a fresh, zingy start, and the warm chocolate lava cake oozing at the end was the perfect sweet finish.

More than the food, though, it was the whole evening: the beach, the candlelight, the wine, and unhurried time together. A proper, memorable date night.
