Thursday's brunch ($89)!
Thursday phase-2 brunch $89 — slightly elevated sit-down restaurant spread. Stepping up from mid-week pricing for the end-of-week stretch.
Thursday brunch with BB — $89 sit-down brunch, slightly above the $50-60 mid-tier sweet spot but still well under the previous week’s $150 splurges. The end-of-week stretch with a small upgrade.
We ordered (Thursday brunch spread):
- Two mains
- Two sides
- Two drinks
- A small dessert to share
Total: $89 for the spread.
The $89 brunch sits in the “elevated mid-tier” zone — substantial enough to feel like a proper event meal, restrained enough not to require special-occasion justification. We added a small dessert this round, which is what pushed it $30 above the standard mid-week pricing.
Mains were the focal point. Both were thoughtful brunch plates — one with a quality protein (likely salmon or duck) over a carb base, the other with a more elaborate fusion preparation. The kind of mains that justify the upper-mid-tier pricing because they reflect kitchen effort.
Sides multiplied the variety. We had a small portion of truffle mushrooms and a side of artisan toast. Each side added a small dimension to the meal that the mains alone wouldn’t have covered.
Drinks were the specialty options — a hand-pour pour-over coffee for me, a fresh cold-pressed juice for BB.
Dessert was a shared small plate — a wedge of cake or a couple of macarons. The “completion move” that turns a brunch into a multi-course event.
The pacing of the week’s brunches was settling into a workable formula. Mid-week was the sweet-spot pricing; Thursday or Friday was the elevated treat. Saturday and Sunday went back to the home kitchen.
$89 once a week for an elevated brunch felt sustainable. The previous week’s pattern of multiple $100+ brunches in a row was the indulgence over-correction; this was the calibrated version.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Solid Thursday brunch — would repeat at this pricing point.
