The Yakiniku LIKE format is genuinely clever: each seat has its own smokeless grill, you grill in batches, eat as you go, and youโre done in 20-30 minutes. No waiting for the group to coordinate. Solo lunch becomes possible in a category that traditionally excludes one diner. โ
Cooking technique: thin wagyu slices need literally 20-30 seconds a side. Over-grill and they go from melt-in-the-mouth to leathery. The pork belly takes a little longer (60-90 sec a side) to render the fat properly. Thatโs when you get the crispy edges. The kimchi salad on the side cuts through the richness. The free-flow rice is the budget hack: go heavy on the rice to extend the meal.
How to get there: Multiple SG outlets including VivoCity, PLQ, Suntec, Bedok Mall. Lunch peaks 12-1pm so go early or late to skip the queue. Pro tip: the app gives the best deals. They regularly run 50%-off-second-set promos.
