Mr Bean — Mee Chiang Kueh + Soya Bean Set (GE rewards: $1)!
Mr Bean Mee Chiang Kueh (peanut pancake) + soya bean drink set redeemed via GE Rewards. $1 promo deal.
Caught the GE Rewards $1 deal at Mr Bean — Mee Chiang Kueh pancake + soya bean set for a single dollar. The cheapest insurance-rewards food perk in town. 😋
What was on the table ($1 via GE Rewards):
- A Mee Chiang Kueh (花生煎饼) — Mr Bean’s peanut pancake (the half-fold thin pancake with crushed peanut + sugar filling visible at the cut edge). Golden brown skin, soft pancake interior. Served in their wax paper sleeve.
- A cup of Mr Bean soya bean drink with the iconic black lid and signature “don’t play play, our soy beans from Canada okay” text doodled across the cup — the playful Singlish branding that’s been Mr Bean’s voice for years.
Mee chiang kueh is the heritage SG hawker pancake — usually made on a hot griddle, half-folded with peanut + sugar filling inside. Mr Bean’s version is the mass-market chain version (consistent quality, available everywhere), not as flavour-dense as the proper hawker version but accessible and reliable.
The soya bean drink is Mr Bean’s hero product — they pioneered the bottled-fresh soya bean drink in SG malls and their formula is the benchmark. Slightly sweet, smooth, clean soya taste.
For $1 via GE Rewards (a loyalty programme of the insurance company), this is genuinely free lunch material. The proper insurance-perk redemption.
Total: $1 via GE Rewards.
Overall: 4.2 / 5. Mee chiang kueh was the right thickness (not the over-doughy chain version), soya bean was Mr Bean standard. Will keep redeeming the $1 deal. 😍👍🏼
