Piedmont Hazelnut gelato at NOM Singapore ($5)!
NOM Singapore artisan gelato — Piedmont hazelnut scoop in the signature paper cup against the cartoon-girl mural wall. $5.
Repeat dessert stop at NOM Singapore — this time the Piedmont Hazelnut gelato. $5. The Italian-classic scoop next to the giant NOM cartoon girl wall mural. 😍
What was on hand ($5 single scoop):
- A scoop of Piedmont hazelnut gelato — caramel-tan colour, smooth and creamy. Made with Piedmont hazelnuts (the gold-standard hazelnut variety used in proper Italian gelaterias, also the base for Ferrero Rocher and Nutella).
- Served in NOM’s signature white paper cup with the girl-eating-cones logo.
- Two clear plastic spoons for the eating ritual (shareable size cup).
Piedmont hazelnut is the benchmark flavour for gelato cred — if a gelateria can do a clean, deeply-nutty hazelnut without going artificial-sweet, they know what they’re doing. NOM gets it right. The hazelnut roastiness comes through clean, not buried under cream.
Behind the cup: NOM’s signature cartoon girl mural — a giant black-line drawing of a girl with chunky bob hair, taking up the whole wall. This is the Insta-bait shot at NOM’s Chinatown shop; everyone takes the cup-against-the-wall photo.
Total: $5. Single-scoop artisan pricing.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Piedmont hazelnut was the proper deep-nutty flavour (real Italian hazelnut paste, not just hazelnut syrup). Clean roastiness, no cloying sweetness. Solid gelato pick. Will keep trying their flavours. 😋👍🏼
