Saturday brunch — fish and chips + chicken leg + cold brews ($55.44 after 10% off)!
Saturday bistro brunch — beer-battered fish and chips, grilled chicken leg with salad, black cold brew and white cold brew. $55.44 after 10% discount.
Saturday brunch with BB at a specialty café-bistro — went for the fish and chips + chicken leg + two cold brews. $55.44 after 10% discount. 😋
What was on the table ($55.44 after 10% off):
- Fish and Chips ($23) — a massive beer-battered white fish fillet with golden bubbly crust, served with a generous mound of thin shoe-string fries, a lemon wedge, a small dish of white tartar sauce topped with parsley and a side ketchup.
- Chicken leg ($23) — pan-grilled chicken thigh + leg with charred skin, served on a bed of mixed greens (arugula + lettuce + dill), with roasted cherry tomatoes and a small dish of dark gravy / jus.
- Black cold brew ($5) — clean espresso-forward cold brew, no milk, in a clear glass.
- White cold brew ($5) — milk-blended cold brew, pale tan colour, slightly creamy. Both on wooden coasters.
The fish and chips was the standout — fish fillet was generous (proper size, not the chain-restaurant skimpy version), batter was light and shatter-crisp. Chicken leg was the cleaner protein pick with that herb-salad freshness.
Cold brew duo: black for me (no-frills coffee strength), white for BB (smoother dairy-blend version). Both pulled from quality beans, no acrid acidity.
Café-bistro pricing at $50+ for two but the 10% discount + quality of ingredients made it acceptable Saturday-brunch spend.
Total: $55.44 after 10% off.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. Fish was the highlight (proper portion, proper batter), chicken leg was the lighter pick. Cold brews were specialty-grade. Solid brunch bistro. 😍👍🏼
