Kimly Seafood!
Group dinner at Kimly Seafood: fried yam ring with mixed seafood, fried spinach, ngoh hiang, assam laksa fish and prawn paste chicken wings. $74.50 for 7 pax.
Dinner at Kimly Seafood after 4 hours of badminton on a Sunday, earned it! ๐
Kimly is one of the big coffeeshop zi char (็ ฎ็) operators in Singapore, the kind of place built for exactly this: a big group, a round table, and a spread of sharing dishes at coffeeshop prices. Damage for 7 pax was $74.50, which works out to around $10.60 a head for a full seafood dinner, genuinely reasonable for the variety.
Fried yam ring with mixed seafood (the โyam basketโ), a deep-fried mashed-yam ring filled with stir-fried seafood and vegetables, the crispy yam shell against the savoury filling, a zi char centrepiece.

Fried spinach (ๅธ็่), the imperial-greens stir-fry, light and garlicky, the vegetable balance to all the fried dishes.

Ngoh hiang, the five-spice fried meat rolls:

Assam laksa fish, the tangy tamarind-and-spice fish dish:

Prawn paste chicken wings (har cheong gai), the fermented-prawn-paste fried wings, the zi char crowd-pleaser:

Complimentary cheng tng dessert to round it off:

A solid, generous zi char spread that does exactly what group dinners need. Will definitely revisit, super worth it for group gatherings.
Overall: 4.2 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ Generous zi char spread, the yam ring and har cheong gai the standouts. Great value for groups, would re-visit.
