A relaxed cafe stop with BB at Paris Baguette, the bakery-cafe: a cappuccino ($4.50) and a green tea latte ($5.50), $10 for the pair. ☕😋
What we had (both takeaway cups):
- Cappuccino: a classic frothy espresso-and-milk coffee
- Green tea latte: matcha with steamed milk
The cappuccino was the dependable order, a shot of espresso under a generous layer of airy, frothy milk, so you get that lovely foam on the first sip and the coffee coming through underneath. Comforting and familiar, exactly what a cappuccino should be.
The green tea latte was the gentler, more interesting one. Made with matcha whisked into steamed milk, it pours that pretty jade-green and tastes earthy and grassy with a soft, creamy, milky body, lightly sweet rather than bitter. A nice change of pace from coffee, and the kind of soothing drink you can sip slowly.
Ordering one of each meant we covered both camps, one a proper coffee, one a matcha tea, which is how BB and I usually end up. Both were perfectly pleasant, and it was an easy, comfortable cafe pause to take a breather over.
Overall: 4.5 / 5. 😋👍🏼 A frothy cappuccino and a creamy, earthy matcha latte, an easy coffee-and-tea pairing. Would re-order.
