Chillax dinner at Punggol Park ($57.63)!
A relaxed lakeside dinner: a seafood marinara pasta, a bowl of fried chicken, a cosmopolitan and a cold beer. $57.63.
A relaxed Sunday-evening wind-down with BB by the water at Punggol Park: dinner and drinks, $57.63. ๐๐น๐
What we had:
- Seafood marinara pasta: spaghetti in a tomato sauce with prawns, squid and scallops
- A bowl of fried chicken
- A cosmopolitan cocktail
- A cold beer
There is something lovely about eating by the lakeside with the breeze coming off the water, and we settled in for an easy meal. The seafood pasta was the main: spaghetti tossed in a savoury tomato sauce loaded with prawns, squid and sweet scallops, hearty and comforting with a bit of chilli warmth through it.
The fried chicken was the moreish side, crisp golden pieces hot from the fryer, the kind you keep picking at between forkfuls of pasta. To drink, BB had a pretty pink cosmopolitan, tart and citrusy in its martini glass, while I went for a cold beer to wash everything down.
It is not fine dining, just good, casual food in a nice setting, which is exactly what a lazy Sunday evening calls for. The view and the unhurried pace were half the appeal.
Overall: 4.3 / 5. ๐๐๐ผ A hearty seafood pasta and crispy fried chicken with drinks by the lake, a relaxed end to the weekend. Would repeat.
