Sunday tea break after badminton ($23.30)!
A post-badminton cafe break: a matcha latte, a cappuccino, a chocolate cream roll and a vanilla cream roll. $23.30.
After four solid hours on the badminton court, BB and I earned a cafe tea break: $23.30 for cakes and coffee. πΈβπ
What we had:
- Matcha latte
- Cappuccino
- Chocolate cream roll with a chocolate drizzle
- Vanilla cream roll with a rose petal
Nothing beats sitting down with something sweet after a long, sweaty session. The matcha latte was the one I went for, earthy and grassy with that gentle bitterness, whisked into milk and dusted with extra matcha on top. BB had the cappuccino, poured with a tidy rosetta, the foam soft and the coffee comforting.
The two cakes were the real reward. The chocolate cream roll was the richer one, a soft chocolate sponge wound around chocolate cream with a glossy drizzle over the top. The vanilla cream roll was the lighter counterpart, an airy sponge filled with fresh cream and finished with a little rose petal, delicate and barely sweet.
A slow, happy wind-down after all that running, one coffee, one tea and two slices to share. Exactly the kind of small ritual that makes the Sunday routine worth keeping.
Overall: 4.4 / 5. πππΌ An earthy matcha and a tidy cappuccino with two soft cream rolls. Would re-do.
