Curry chicken noodles ($4)!

A Bedok hawker lunch: a $4 bowl of curry chicken noodles, the kind of cheap, gravy-soaked bowl that hits on a warm afternoon. πŸœπŸ˜‹

What we had:

The bowl came loaded with sliced tau pok (fried beancurd puffs) fanned across the top, each one a little sponge holding the curry gravy, plus shredded poached chicken tucked underneath and a soft chunk of curry potato sitting at the bottom. The noodles were the usual yellow-noodle and bee hoon mix that soak up the broth.

The gravy is the lighter coconut-curry style rather than a heavy laksa: turmeric-orange, mildly sweet from the coconut, with a gentle chilli warmth that builds rather than burns. It is thin enough to slurp by the spoonful but still coats every strand of noodle and every piece of tau pok.

At $4 this is honest neighbourhood hawker food, nothing fancy, just a comforting bowl of curry, beancurd puffs and noodles done right. The sort of bowl you finish and feel settled.

Overall: 4.5 / 5. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸΌ Light coconut curry gravy, gravy-soaked tau pok and tender chicken, a solid $4 bowl. Would re-order.
