Jew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice!

First-time visit to Jew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice at Killiney Road! 😋

Hainanese chicken rice is Singapore’s unofficial national dish, and Jew Kit is one of the established names doing the classic sit-down version, poached chicken, fragrant rice, and the all-important chilli. We came for a special-occasion set rather than the usual plate.

The old-school-look menu:

Ordered the Valentine’s set for 2 pax sharing ($22++), the date-night spread.

The Hainanese chicken, poached gently so the meat stays tender and the skin sets into that signature slippery, gelatinous layer:

Ngoh hiang, the five-spice fried meat rolls, the set’s fried side:

The chicken rice, the real test, cooked in chicken stock with garlic, ginger and pandan so each grain is fragrant and oily:

The overall spread:

The chicken was tender and the rice properly fragrant, the two things a chicken rice has to get right. Not bad at all, one of the nicer Hainanese chicken rice around, and we would revisit to try their zi char dishes too.

Address: 105 Killiney Rd, Singapore 239546 Hours: Daily 10:30am - 12am

Overall: 4.2 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Tender chicken and fragrant rice, one of the nicer chicken rice around. Would re-visit.
