Lobster rolls ($44)!
Saturday evening lobster rolls $44. New England-style lobster roll at premium tier.
Late-night lobster rolls with BB, $44 for the spread. π A proper indulgent treat in the Tanjong Pagar area.
What was on the table ($44):
- Two warm, buttered lobster rolls: chunks of lobster meat with crispy bacon bits, tucked into toasted split-top buns and glossy with brown butter.
- A bowl of fries with a pinkish mentaiko-style mayo dip.
- A bowl of clam soup on the side.
This is the Connecticut style of lobster roll: the lobster comes warm and dressed in butter (rather than the cold, mayo-tossed Maine version), served in the classic New England split-top bun thatβs been buttered and griddled on the sides until golden. The buns here were soft and toasty, the lobster meaty and sweet, and the addition of bacon gave it a smoky, savoury edge you donβt usually get, decadent in the best way. A squeeze of butter pooling at the bottom meant every bite stayed rich.
The clam soup was the smart side, a light, briny broth to cut through all that butter, while the fries with the spicy-savoury mayo were moreish on their own. At $44 itβs a splurge rather than an everyday bite, but for a late-night lobster fix it hit the spot.
Overall: 4.8 / 5. πππΌ Buttery, generous Connecticut-style lobster rolls with a clever bacon twist, balanced by a clean clam soup. A worthwhile indulgence. Would re-order.
