On our Taiwan trip: a 二人套餐 (couple set meal), an individual steamboat with a raw platter of pork, corn and veg, plus stir-fried pork with greens and sweet-and-sour fried fish.

What came with the set:
- Individual steamboat (hotpot) bubbling on its own little tabletop burner, with a raw platter of sliced pork, corn and vegetables to cook in the broth.
- Stir-fried pork with greens, sliced pork tossed with leafy vegetables in a savoury sauce.
- Sweet-and-sour fried fish, lightly battered fish in a tangy sauce with onions, scallions and chilli.
- A bowl of rice / soup to round it out.
A 二人套餐 is the set built for two, a small personal steamboat plus a couple of cooked dishes to share, so you get the fun of cooking your own meat and veg in the pot alongside ready-made sides. The steamboat lets you blanch the pork and vegetables to your liking, the stir-fried pork is the hearty savoury plate, and the sweet-and-sour fish brings the bright, appetite-whetting contrast.
Cosy and generous, the kind of comforting set meal that’s perfect for two on a cooler Taiwan evening, and great value compared to ordering everything à la carte.
