The set probably included:

The featured dessert at this $22++ tier was likely a more elaborate item — multi-layered cake with proper presentation, fresh fruit or chocolate decoration, themed with the Valentine’s hearts or red-pink colour scheme.
The drinks were probably a coffee + tea or two specialty drinks designed to pair with the dessert. Hot tea, latte, or champagne-cocktail formats are the standard cafe Valentine’s options.
Valentine’s Day cafe sets are a polarising format. Some couples love the themed presentation and the small ceremony of the holiday set; others find the elaborate Valentine’s branding excessive and prefer the regular menu items. We tend to do at least one Valentine’s set per year as the small marker of the holiday.

The pre-Valentine’s Saturday slot is the right venue for the cafe set. The actual February 14 is usually crowded with reservations and themed dinners; the Saturday before the holiday gives us the unhurried cafe experience with the same Valentine’s set menu still running.
The cafe was probably one of our regular weekend specialty spots — the kind of place we’d been frequenting through the months, with the baristas knowing our orders.
