What was on the plate ($8.90+):

Ayam berempah = Malay-Indonesian spice-coated fried chicken. Berempah = “with spices” — chicken marinated in turmeric + coriander + cumin + ginger + galangal + chilli powder + fried with shallots + curry leaves. Crispy + fragrant.

Dry mee siam = the orange-tamarind-sambal bee hoon variant.

Lemongrass lychee = SG-Malay refreshing drink — lemongrass-infused water + lychee syrup + actual lychee. Cuts through the spice.

Overall: 4.2 / 5. Mee siam had proper sambal-tamarind, ayam berempah had crispy spice coating, lemongrass lychee balanced. Nanyang cafe execution. 😋👍🏼
