House of Dessert (甜品之家) — eight treasure soy beancurd ($2.20)!

Post-dinner walk dessert at House of Dessert (甜品之家) with BB. Their eight treasure soy beancurd is the kind of order you make when you can’t decide on a topping — so you just get all of them.

We ordered:

The beancurd itself was silky, with that fresh soy aroma you only get when it’s made the same day rather than scooped from a tub that’s been sitting around. Lightly sweetened, served warm (you can ask for cold).

The “eight treasures” on top were the usual cast — red bean, mung bean, peanut, gingko, sago pearls, barley, lotus seed, and a dollop of something fruity. Each bite gave you a slightly different combination, which kept it from feeling one-note. The sugar level was sensible; you could taste each component without it becoming syrupy.

At $2.20 this is genuine value — most cafes charge five times the price for half the effort. House of Dessert keeps it old-school and lets the ingredients speak.

Overall: 4 / 5. 😋👍🏼 Solid neighbourhood dessert stop, nothing flashy but honest work.
